If you’ve been following this blog, you probably already know that I’ve been on a self-help book kick lately. My most recent read is #FutureBoards: Learn How to Create a Vision Board to Get Exactly the Life You Want by Sarah Centrella. It’s basically a step-by-step process for making and using a super-charged goal setting vision board for manifesting.

Quick caveat: There is some cursing in this book. If you have sensitive ears, I want you to know that before jumping in.

#FutureBoards

You might be thinking, “But Kashele, I know how to make a vision board. I’m already on Pinterest.” There is SO much more to this book than that! There are intentional, purposeful exercises that Sarah steps you through before you ever open the Pinterest app. (Complete with journal prompts!) Then after your physical board is complete, she gives other tools and practices to really uplevel your manifesting so you can create the life you want.

I love that toward the beginning of the book, Sarah addresses common mental blocks. A lot of times, I think we are our own biggest obstacle to meeting our goals. So it’s really helpful that she talks about mindset to help us avoid self sabotaging.

Vision Board for Goals and Manifesting

One of the really powerful aspects of this process is that Sarah makes you really dig down and define (visually) what you want your success to look like. You create a picture of it in your mind, THEN go looking for the perfect image on Pinterest to match what you saw in your head. She also encourages you to visualize/daydream and “play the movie” of that success often in your mind. What will it feel like?

Protip: I actually used a magnet board and made it pretty with contact paper instead of a cork board, and I love it!

I followed Sarah’s process to make my #FutureBoard, and I’m excited to put in the work and create my dream life!
